How do you make a product that’s been around for 40 years feel completely new while leveraging a creative legacy that took decades to build? That’s the challenge of selling BAM’s Next Wave Festival, a months-long program of genre-defying performance from all over the world.
Solution:
Implement a tone of voice that demands attention, evokes disruption, and invites active participation, mirroring the audacious spirit of Next Wave itself.

Film Series Trailer: “Be realistic, demand the impossible!” Cinema, Surrealism, Marxism at BAM

“Throwing food, throwing bombs, throwing tantrums, throwing parties, throwing Molotov cocktails...”
This introductory line from series programmer Yasmina Price served as the jumping off point for one of my favorite projects of all time. I always love having the opportunity to take a complex concept and distill down to its written essence. We wanted to capture the chaotic, messy, radically impolite qualities of these anarchic fictions and experimental oddities.

Live Performance Trailer: Corps extrêmes, BAM Next Wave Festival 2023

For Rachid Ouramdane’s high-flying Corps extrêmes, the creative team sought to evoke the sense of magnitude and scale at which these athlete-artists were working. In accordance with the dance company’s vision, we produced a short trailer that is spare, ascetic, and meditative.
