Before there were analytics dashboards, there was Craigslist.

Think of everyone’s favorite HTML site as a perfect embodiment of our digital lives: a chaos engine and a marketplace. It’s where we go when we want something—and when we don’t want it anymore. We go there to find people, forget about people, lowball people.

If my love of Craigslist has given me one single valuable thing (which is debatable, but I did spend the pandemic making this microsite of Craigslist poems), it’s the opportunity to meet lots and lots of strangers.

Every afternoon I’ve spent standing in some weird guys’ dusty garage has made me a better listener—a collector of perspectives. And I bring this same openness and curiosity about people to every brand I think about. So let me hit you with another hot take:

If you want your brand to sound like it has put in the time to really understand people, I’m your guy.

Because I’ve learned that a dusty road bike isn’t just a road bike. It has a story—everything does.

Here’s a bit more about my background:

-I’m currently working client-side as a copywriter at BAM in Fort Green, Brooklyn. I write about theater, film, music, and dance for web, video, OOH, print, and social.

-I’m also a retired bike messenger: I spent two years during COVID delivering everything from divorce papers to deep-dish pizzas with a gang of other aimless bike nerds.

-As if cycling was not an expensive enough hobby, I’ve also picked up the unbelievably frustrating, costly, and margianally rewarding activity of fly fishing.

-I play a bunch of instruments and have rocked out in basically every gross basement in the Denver-Boulder area.

-Once, when I was working at an italian restaurant, I accidentally grated parmesan into someone’s wine. Oops!
