I think of everyone’s favorite HTML site as a perfect embodiment of our digital lives: a chaos engine and a marketplace. It’s where we go when we want something—and when we don’t want it anymore. We go there to say thank you, or eff you. To find people, forget about people, lowball people.
If my love of Craigslist has given me one valuable thing (aside from a closet full of fishing junk), it’s the opportunity to listen to strangers talk, the opportunity to hear what makes them tick. You’d be surprised how much people will tell you if you’re willing to listen.
